• The Victorian Branch of the Australian Local Government Women’s’ Association Executive Committee lodged a submission to the Minister for Local Government, The Hon Richard Wynne MP in relation to the review of the 2005 Local Government election procedures.

• The Victorian Branch of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association Executive Committee lodged a submission in regard to the Local Government (Councillor Remuneration Review) conducted by the Minister for Local Government.
  
  The submission was made to the Review Panel who will advise on remuneration of Victoria’s locally elected leaders through a review of current allowances and provide advice and recommendations to the Minister on allowances and guidelines on the appropriate reimbursement of expenses and provision of resources support for the Mayoral and Councillor roles.

• The ALGWA Executive Committee has written to the Minister for Local Government, The Hon Richard Wynne MP, reccomending the formation of a Women’s Advisory Committee in Victoria.
  
  The Letter states ”ALGWA believes that an Advisory Committee of Women in Local Government would have the potential to provide comprehensive advice to you as Minister for Local Government, on ways of encouraging and assisting women to participate in Local Government through both employed and elected positions.”
