The Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) Research 2009 document has been released and is available from the ALGWA National Website www.algwa.net.au.
This 40 page document provides a thorough analysis of the ALGWA 2009 on-line survey on Gender Matters in Local Government and includes selected comments from the 3336 survey participants. This document includes information and analysis on the status of Women in Local Government from the ABS 2006 census.
The aim of ALGWAs project funded by the Australian Government Women’s Leadership and Development Program was to progress the implementation of The National Framework for Women in Local Government – The Way Forward. The research is being provided in this format with the assistance of the UTS Centre of Local Government to enable this important data to be utilised by those who support and promote ALGWA’s goals.
