National Council of Women of Victoria Function

On Monday 29 February, the President and Secretary attended the 2015 Awards and 2016  Launch event of the ‘My Vote My Voice’ campaign of the National Council of Women (NCW.)  The campaign aims to encourage secondary schoolgirls to research, understand and prepare a speech on the history of women’s suffrage in Victoria.  The culmination of the campaign each year is the chance for the girls to make a speech in Victoria’s Legislative Assembly during the Parliamentary break.  In 2016 the theme is Women in Local Government: where to now? and each participating school will be given a copy of our book The Right to Vote; the Right to Stand.
